The Hawaii IPTV Crew was at this year's Spam Jam in Monterey getting behind the scenes footage and exclusive interviews. Here is an early sampling of the fun and festivities they caught on video camera. The Barefoot Natives encounter an invasive species as they rehearse in preparation for an evening concert at Maui’s Castle Theater. Observe Uncle Willie K and Eric Gilliom in their natural habitat: loafing on the beach in this half-hour of music and comedy. The program blends video clips, theatrics, and live concert performances recorded at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center on January 13, 2007.

John Ford production depicting life in Hawaii before World War II, during the attack on Pearl Harbor, and the changes the war brought afterwards. Scenes of Honolulu, Oahu, Hawaii in 1941 - including Hawaiian scenery, hula dancing, surfboard riding, sugar cane and pineapple cultivation, and local footage from the war during this historic time in Hawaii's history. 
 


Vaka Taumaka Don Ho Remembered Brothers Cazimero 25th Annual Lei Day Concert

Proudly produced by JUNIROA Productions, a 16-minute documentary about the first voyage of Vaka Taumako, the first traditional canoe from the Duff Islands (Solomon Islands) to be built in four decades.
 

Thousands crowded the Queen’s Surf beach at Waikiki on May 5th for a six hour celebration of the life of Don Ho, who passed away on April 14th.

The Brothers Cazimero, May 1st, and the Waikiki Shell are synonymous to the thousands of fans who year after year, pack a picnic, sew flower lei, and join with family and friends to experience a concert that is uniquely Hawaiian.

Includes rare existing footage, photos, sounds & songs that haven’t been seen or heard in years, C&P trivia, appearances by diehard fans and nostalgic interviews with all the major cast members as they are today.

KGMB 9 remembers: Wrestling in Hawaii. Host, Tom Moffatt. Remember when wrestling ruled on local tv? When locker room interviews rocked the airwaves and Ripper Collins was a household name? Join KGMB as we take a nostalgic look back at the days when a Saturday afternoon at KGMB 9 studios was a regular outing for hundreds of Hawaii keiki and their parents. Find out what wrestlers are doing today.

Two Years and 16,000 miles ago, the Polynesian Voyaging Society and its doubled hulled canoe Hokule`a set out on an ambitious project, retracing the major migratory routes of ancient Polynesians. Elisa Yadao and Cliff Watson have covered this voyage of rediscovery since it began and were part of the crew that brought the canoe home to Hawaii from Tahiti.


Kaho'olawe 'The Revival' All In The Ohana The Best of Booga Booga

For 50 years, the US Navy used Kaho`olawe as a bombing range. Kim Gennaula and the KGMB crew camped for three days on the island with the protect Kaho`olawe ohana and the military. This special will look at the legends that surround Kaho`olawe, the cultural significance of the island and give monst viewers their first look at the sacred site the ohana is fighting to protect.

Talented local comedian Andy Bumatai plays five different roles in this comedy special about the plight of an island family struggling to hold onto their home. The special is based on an original script for television written by Larry Fleece.

From the KGMB Archives, a program originally aired in 1987 follows the hilarious antics of James Grant Benton, Ed Ka'ahea and Dave Lancaster – collectively known as Booga Booga. The comedy trio shares their talent and humor in local-style characters and situations.


CBS The First 50 Years Pictures of Paradise Pictures of Paradise II

Decade-by-decade trek from the '50s to the present. Back to host the special is former KGMB News director and anchor Sevey, often referred to as the "Walter Cronkite of Hawaii."
     A tradition of local programming was born at the station, which offered the after-school children's program "Checkers and Pogo"; televised "Wrestling in Hawaii"; and captured the entertainment scene through "Island Music, Island Hearts"; and "Sunrise, The Kini Popo Show."
     Included in the special are an array of program clips, personality profiles and interviews, plus glimpses of perennially popular KGMB comedy specials: "All in the Ohana" & "High School Daze," featuring comedian Andy Bumatai; and "Rap's Hawaii," which starred Rap Replinger.

Taped before a live audience at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Tropics Showroom, Night Time with Andy Bumatai is Hawai'i's only entertainment-oriented TV talk show. Spend a half hour with Andy and his guests for local style fun on the Island’s version of the Tonight Show

All in the `Ohana is a hilarious look at "family" in Hawai`i. It cleverly captures the color, flavor and depth of our unique lifestyle with wit and charm. Andy Bumatai's marvelous talent shines in this video. His childhood memories of growing up in Wai`anae provide the groundwork as he magically plays all five members of the `ohana 

Through the fun, serious and timeless issues are brought to light: land ownership, family unity and compassion for Hawai`i future. Originally aired on August 14, 1980, this local television classic shows us the special meaning of the island life -- and how we are all one `ohana, one family, bound by the Aloha spirit.

“IN TUNE” True Island Music is a series featuring “unplugged” jam sessions with Hawaiian artists, produced in Hawaii by Liquid Planet Studios. This half-hour show presents incredible acoustic jam sessions and revealing, behind-the-scenes lifestyle segments. It is filmed on location in Honolulu at the BudLight Warehouse.

A rich story of Malama ‘aina and profound love of the land as told by the students and community members show practice at He’eia fishpond – one of Oahu’s last productive ancient fishponds.
